The Name...

Okay why did i pick the name and what does it mean... Since i can remember i have always like Julia Roberts and I have always liked her name.. the name means youthful... when coming up with a name it seemed like something that fit and i believe the name is a pretty name and goes along well with my middle name which is also Julia's full name is Julia Rose Ortega, other considerations of a name where Megan, and Madeline.. If it was a boy we had thought of the name Raul.. in honor of Alex's Dad..

Ms. Julia Rose in her 8 months of life has earned several nicknames even though her name is easily translated in spanish she is called other names by her only spanish speaking relatives: such as Julie, Julianna, Julita, Jules, Big J.. and then the names her father has given her...

I hope that this name i have picked she will like in the future... But it was picked with a lot of love...

The Pregnancy and Arrival...

The Pregnancy was pretty straightforward not many complications overall. It began in Nov 2007 with a bang.. I was so exicited but waited about a month to tell everyone. As I am a sucker for surprizes I did not want to find out her sex. Alex was dying to know but i did not let him find out either for a while we argued about it but he finally gave in. Midway through the pregnancy I found out I had gestational diabetes and we had to be monitored very closely.. Ultrasound about every four weeks and blood sugars taken 4 times a day that was a pain but all well worth it.. At about 36 weeks I began to have contractions but did not notice until the Dr. asked me have you been dilating, I said i don't think so and she stated well you are 1 centimeter dialated. The week after I was 2 centimeters... Julia was ready to come...


At 39 weeks I went to the specialist and they did a ultrasound to check how big she had gotten and discovered that my fluid was leaking so they sent me to the hospital for an induction. The induction began at 6:00 am and at 12:07 pm Julia arrived... I tried to fight the medication for a long time and used the birthing ball and other tactics i was labeled hardheaded by my mother and husband. At 8 centimeters I had some medication through the IV... which got me really dizzy I would of prefered nothing... at this time my mother, sister, cousin, husband and father were in the room the women in the corner and the men helping me... At 12:07 p.m. we heard the words: IT'S A GIRL......

Introducing Ms. Julia

Hello All i have never done a blog before so I guess I will say I am a virgin to this process. I got the idea of this from my wonderful cousin, and thought this would be a great way to document Julia and to share with others her story...
So we begin Julia Rose Ortega was born on 8.05.2008 at 12:07. At birth she weighed 6 ls 15 oz Now she is 7 months and weighs in at 16 lbs 12 oz... She is a very happy baby and most of the time is in a good mood...
At the present time she is begining to explore with her mouth, is attempting to crawl, stand, and walk all at the same time. She babbles a lot and I believe she will be a talker. Well this is all for today.. lets see how this blog thing works out.
